Feel Fest is a free mental health festival in Hutchinson, Kansas, and it’s about as grassroots as it gets. Before the 2026 fest on October 9 and 10, we sat down with the Feel Fest team to hear how the whole thing comes together.
We got into lived experience and the stigma that still keeps a lot of people quiet. And yes, Minecraft. They’re building a Minecraft world for a mental health festival, and once they explain why, it just clicks. This isn’t a fundraiser dinner. It’s people in their own town making a place they’d actually want to be.
We’re not a mental health org and we won’t act like one. We’re two nerds who know comics and games have pulled plenty of people through a rough night. Feel Fest treats that like it counts. So do we.
